Ahead of the miners' professional holiday, the Territorial Body of the Federal State Statistics Service for the Kemerovo Region – Kuzbass (Kemerovostat) announced the results of its annual competition among the region's leading economic enterprises.
Following an expert assessment, Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Company (KTC) was named the winner in the special category "A Pleasure to Do Business With." The competition was held among companies in the coal industry, recognizing organizations that demonstrate impeccable quality in their interactions with state statistical authorities.
The selection criteria were:
• Strict adherence to reporting deadlines;
• Accuracy in completing statistical forms;
• Completeness and level of detail in responses to inquiries from agency specialists.
The certificate was ceremoniously presented at the Kemerovostat offices to Irina Gross, Deputy Head of the Financial Reporting and Tax Accounting Department at KTK Consulting LLC. This department provides comprehensive accounting support for JSC KTK.
Nadezhda Yakubova, Deputy Head of Kemerovostat, emphasized the importance of high-quality statistics for the state:
"Our organization generates official information that serves as the basis for management decisions made by the Government of the Russian Federation and regional authorities. High-quality data is highly valued at the federal level and forms the foundation for formulating strategic decisions. The "A Pleasure to Do Business With" award signifies that the company’s specialists respond to all our inquiries in a timely and detailed manner. Reporting formats are not always perfect, so we require clarifications to compile comprehensive reports on the status of the companies—and, by extension, the coal mining industry as a whole. The most complex form—essentially a micro-census of the company—is "Form 1-Enterprise." Some forms require maximum speed, allowing just two days to collect and process data from 5,000 respondents. We submit the data to Rosstat, which analyzes it closely and may request clarifications—for instance, regarding the reasons for a drop in coal production. In this regard, we rely on the completeness and thoroughness of the responses provided by specialists at coal companies."
It is worth noting that this competition has been held for several years and is impartial in nature—applications for participation are not accepted. Results are determined solely based on monitoring company performance throughout the year, which comes as a genuine surprise to the agency's conscientious partners.
Irina Gross, Deputy Head of the Financial Reporting and Tax Accounting Department at KTK Consulting LLC, noted the constructive nature of the cooperation:
"Specialists from our company provide information as part of the services rendered to JSCregarding accounting support for KTK. Generally, the available data suffices for completing statistical forms, though we do clarify certain matters with the company’s economists. Our interactions with Kemerovostat have always been constructive and handled with great tact. We share a positive professional relationship, and it is truly gratifying to receive recognition by winning this competition."
The award ceremony for KTK took place as part of a series of events marking Miner's Day, which is celebrated annually on the last Sunday of August. The coal industry remains the foundation of Russia's energy security, and Kuzbass is the country's key coal-mining hub.
